The other day, Grace asked me how the very first person was able to create all of the other people in the world. I'm not quite sure where this came from, except, of course, that our children are geniuses (and have a current fascination with dinosaurs). Anyway, I immediately launched into a clumsy explanation of evolution. This morning, I heard Grace trying to explain evolution to Tess. This is how the conversation ended:

Grace: "… And that means we were all animals."

Tess: "Is Maggie going to turn into a person?"

Like I said — geniuses.
