Navigating the hilly terrain of motherhood

This week is "February vacation" in Maine. I am pretty sure this school break was instituted as a way for lucky Mainers to escape to Florida for a few days during what feels like the longest month of the year. Those of stuck here in Maine are left to find ways to occupy ourselves without freezing our toes off or slowly succumbing to boredom. Luckily for us, we were invited to join some friends at an L.L.Bean-owned cabin up north on Rangeley Lake. We ice skated across the frozen lake (all the way out to an island!), played in the snow, laughed with good friends by the fire, and even saw a moose!

I guess being "stuck" in Maine for February vacation isn't so bad after all.
