We have been SO busy around here, getting ready for our guests and Christmas, and reveling in the excitement of the season. Cookie baking, crafting, holiday shows, and playing the snow (finally!)… And the good news is: the fun is just beginning! Here's wishing you and yours a merry time, too!

On Saturday we rode the Candy Cane Train, a 90-minute scenic round-trip ride from Bath to Wiscasset. There were elves (local high school cheerleaders), carolers, and storytellers on the train. As you may have heard, winters in Maine are long and dark and cold and snowy. And did I mention they are cold and snowy? And long? We do our best to get outside in the winter months, but certain things — like scootering — are just not possible. So we're doing our best to…

Remarkably, no one's shoes got wet on this hike. It was a minor miracle.

On Saturday, we tried out yet another beautiful fall hike. It was chilly and very windy when we reached the overlook at the top of the hill, but that was okay. Because forest fairies don't mind the wind at all. In fact, they quite like it — it helps them flit around the trees.
