My sweet girl "Six" (as she requested to be called yesterday), started her big day off with some gift opening.
Next came a visit to the art studio (where messes are mandatory — luckily) with her good buddy, Elyse.
Next came brownie sundaes with our next-door neighbors (whom Grace invited all on her own)!
All of this was interspersed with many celebratory calls from relatives, and even from a friend!
Then came the most exciting part of the day — a special horseback riding lesson. Grace was judged in a "show" and won a ribbon (her very first!). The instructor even gave her a birthday cake with a horse on top!
Grace's very full, very special day ended with a special guitar performance. She serenaded us with tunes like, "What are the colors of the rainbow" and "Me and Julio down by the schoolyard," accompanied by some very frenzied strumming. (Thank goodness she starts lessons next week! That kid needs to learn some real chords!)
Phew, that was a GOOD day.
