On Thursday, it snowed for the first time. The girls were very excited, and Grace was inspired to compose a snow song:

"It's snowing, it's snowing…

How beautiful and softly.

Brrrrr I am cold

In my little log cabin."

They both happily went off to school wearing their snowsuits, boots, hats and mittens. Of course, it wasn't snowing at all at their school, and by the time they came home, the snow at our house had melted. Major disappointment. I tried to explain that there will come a time when they wish the snow would go away, and there was no need to rush it, but their little brains don't have any recollection of just how long winter is. Lucky kids.
