It's full-on blueberry season here in Maine, and we're making the most of it. Besides blueberry smoothies, blueberries on granola, and blueberries all by themselves, I've made scrumptious blueberry-lemon crumb bars. And tomorrow I'm making blueberry crumble.
Our fabulous next-door neighbors have their own blueberry bushes, and invited us to come pick while they were away. Needless to say, this was wonderful — can you see Tess stuffing her face while sitting in the wagon (below)? The big bowl of blueberries we picked didn't last the day, but that's okay. We've ordered 15 pounds of local berries for our freezer. I just know that a hot blueberry crumble will taste perfect on a frigid January evening!
